Icon: Bunny

Bunny Williams is totally my hero.  You know when kids say that they want to grow up to be an astronaut, or a firefighter?  Well, I wanna grow up to be just like Bunny.   The woman is hailed an icon in world of interior design and rightly so.  Williams has been designing since the 60’s, started off as a secretary in the firm of Albert Hadley and Sister Parish (!)  and has been gracing the homes of the 1% with impeccable her taste ever since.

I love this modern penthouse featured in Elle Decor.  In the wrong hands, a blue glass ceiling and light color palette may have felt cold and uninviting…clearly not in Bunny’s hands though.  Photo via Elle Decor

“I like an interior that defies labeling,” she says in the ED interview.   “I don’t really want someone to walk into a room and know that I did it.”  This should be every designer’s mantra.   Photo via Elle Decor

In Bunny’s rooms, there is always plenty of comfortable seating for all the guests, there is always a place to put your drink, there is always a lamp next to your favorite reading spot, the dogs are always welcome on the furniture and the scale is always perfect.  PhotoVia Bunny Williams.
